WISE English offers TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and TOEIC (Test Of English for International Communication) preparation courses.
Both these tests are administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS). When you take the official TOEFL and TOEIC tests, you will register and send your examination fees directly to ETS. Our ETS centre number is: M757 **
The Exam Preparation Programmes cover speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, naturally including grammar and vocabulary.
At WISE English, our teachers will help to prepare you for the TOEFL and TOEIC tests using a number of ways.
We will help you to improve your level of English through various lessons so you understand grammar better. You will practise speaking English through discussions and conversation activities so you can improve your communication ability, increase your vocabulary and develop fluency and confidence. We will give you regular practice tests and teach you useful techniques to help you perform better in the test.
During the TOEFL and TOEIC Preparation programme, you will focus on key strategies such as:
- Reading: Understanding meaning from context, connecting ideas and recognising paraphrases
- Writing: Write formally and develop ideas in English, including introductions, detailed paragraphs and conclusions.
- Listening: Comprehension, determining important information, supporting ideas.
- Speaking: Maintaining a conversation, using a varied vocabulary, discussion ability, pronunciation and speaking naturally.
- Structure: Tenses, sentences, finding and correcting grammatical errors.
- Test strategies: preparation, timing, stress levels, etc.
The TOEFL and TOEIC tests continue to be accepted for admissions by universities and other institutions around the world.
** As of February 2014, the TOEFL and TOEIC tests have been suspended by the UK visa authorities and are NOT accepted as proof of English language skills for UK visa purposes. Please check with your institution for test score requirements as you may find each institution has different requirements for the course that you intend to apply for.
